CITY OF SCOTTSDALE, HIRES AZTEC TENTS TO RE-FABRICATE 128,000- SQUARE-FOOT FACILITY

TORRANCE, Calif. – Aztec Tents, hired by the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, recently manufactured over 10,000 yards of Naizil vinyl coated material to re fabricate the City’s 128,000- Square-foot Westworld Special Events facility, annual home to the Barrett-Jackson Auto Show and quarter million visitors.

Purchased by the City of Scottsdale in 2005, the Westworld facility – with dimensions of 320-feetwide by 400 feet long by 90 feet high- was in desperate need of a makeover. For Aztec, developing new fabric for the curved building was not an easy task. Aztec designed, engineered and constructed the new fabric panels in August 2007, and FCI & Image Building Systems and MTY Enterprises completed the installation in late October. The new fabric features a tan exterior that blends into the surrounding desert landscape with a black interior to maximize usage for special events inside the structure.

In 2007, the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction- for which car collectors and enthusiast travel from across the world- included 1250 cars, earning a staggering $112 million in sales and over 250,000 attendees. Inside the refurbished structure, administrators expect that number to significantly increase during the 2008 show.
