Eric Vander Ploeg

Chief Financial Officer

Starting with Aztec in July of 2000, Eric has managed Aztec’s Finance and Accounting department from the days when Aztec operated as both a special event rental company and as a manufacturer/supplier to the special events industry.

Eric grew up in Chicago and attended Valparaiso University.  After graduating college Eric worked in the corporate offices of Brunswick Corporation.  At Brunswick, Eric created budgeting models for their 167 bowling alleys and worked with their fishing, boating and outboard motor divisions.  In 1990 Eric moved to the beach cities of Southern California, working in the Accounting departments of two companies for the last twenty five years.

Having experience in the Rental Industry allows both Eric and Aztec to understand and support the party and special event rental industry.

Frame Tents

Frame Tents feature a skeleton of aluminum framework and steel connectors to support the tent top. Although this style of tent is "free-standing" by design, it still must be anchored to resist wind forces. All styles of frame tents have no poles that come to the ground in the interior space of the tent.

Pole Tents

Pole tents rely on tension in the membrane to hold the shape of the tent system. These tents are supported by single or multiple centerpoles in the middle of the tent area and a series of sidepoles around the perimeter of the tent area. The tent is tensioned toward the anchoring locations commonly with a rope or ratchet strap.
