The answer is sidewall! In order to keep all of our wall at a standard 10’ width the radiused corners (round ends) of the Tidewater require widths such as 32’, 44’ 51’ 57’ 66’ and 82’. The benefit to this is that any 10’ Tidewater Wall will fit anywhere on any size Tidewater Tent
Technically speaking Tidewater Tents have a wall rope that you can hang standard tent wall on. It won’t fit well or look very good, but you can do it. We make sidewall specifically for the Tidewater for the following reasons:
Yes, but probably not for the reasons you are thinking. Although the Tidewater is considerably lighter weight (approx. 30% lighter than a comparably sized blockout fabric tension tent) The fabric and reinforcements allow us to achieve a very strong tent (Engineering: ASCE 7-10 115mph-44.2mph Exposure “C”). The extra care required with the Tidewater has more to do with the high translucent properties of our Prosail III fabric. Stains on the tent top, either inside or outside, will silhouette against the sun and show more readily than a blockout viny tent. Keeping the tent clean and drying it before storing are vital to keeping the Tidewater looking great. The tradeoff is well worth it though. The same translucency that allows stains to be seen is also arguably the tents most important feature – High light transmission. Once you have been under a Tidewater Tent you will know exactly what we are talking about.
